COMPUTEX 2019 to Host Cybersecurity & Video Surveillance Area as GDPR Drives Demand for Industrial Security

Asia’s leading B2B ICT Trade Show, COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2019 will return from May 28 to June 1, 2019. The co-organizer, Taipei Computer Association (TCA) stated that the implementation of the European Union’s GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) further increases the need for cybersecurity. AI powered autonomous video surveillance also becomes more and more versatile. Responding to these market trends and demands, COMPUTEX will add the Cyber Security & Video Surveillance Area in 2019.

In addition, with the rising popularity of Extended Reality (XR) such as AR, VR, and MR; COMPUTEX 2019 will expand the Gaming & VR/AR Area to be the Gaming & XR Area. This area will showcase the different possible applications of XR in terms of gaming and related industries.

GDPR Regulations which were active as of May 25, 2018 also further increases the demand for cybersecurity. A recent research from Gartner showed that the global spending on cybersecurity products and services is expected to exceed USD 114 Billion in 2018, a 12.4% increase from the 2017 figures. This number is expected to grow beyond USD 124 Billion in 2020. This spending is expected to be in 3 major categories: security services, network infrastructure security, and network security hardware.

TCA stated that AI has one of the highest growth rates in video surveillance applications. Not only can it power different applications, it also drives the continuous growth for video surveillance. From another report published by Technavio, the global surveillance market is estimated to reach USD 64 Billion in 2022 with the CAGR expected to exceed 11% from 2018 to 2022.

Responding to the increased demand for cybersecurity and video surveillance, COMPUTEX will add a new Cybersecurity & Video Surveillance area in 2019 in Nangang Hall 2 to provide system integrators, telecom operators, and channels a one stop procurement platform for hardware and solutions. Companies for security measures such as cybersecurity software, network security hardware, video surveillance, access control system, biometrics authentication, and other relevant industries are invited to participate in this area.

InnoVEX 2019 Assist Investment in AI and Blockchain through Theme Pavilions

In 2019, InnoVEX will introduce Theme Pavilions in four emerging and dynamic technologies: AI, Biotech & Healthcare, Blockchain, and Circular Economy. As investors get more interested in these industries; TCA announced that InnoVEX 2019 will have theme pavilions of the four industries. This is done to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of matchmaking between startups & investors: VCs, corporate investors, and more.
