COMPUTEX 2022 Symposium to Discuss 5G and Beyond 5G Connections

Gartner stated that as of 2020, 10% of CSPs have provided commercial 5G in multiple regions and by 2024, the coverage is expected to reach 60%. The rapid growth of 5G adoption and connection coverage in the coming few years is propelled by the need for fast & stable connection with low latency demanded by users across all sectors. Businesses and education will need the upgrade as operations and classes move to remote or hybrid formats. Industries will also need 5G to ensure the IoT devices installed for smart manufacturing function reliably; especially if the factory adopts lights out manufacturing.
Governments around the world are also developing their own plans for 5G and Beyond 5G connections; especially as connection infrastructures will need to be upgraded and updated. This upgrade will include passive optical network (PON), 10-Gigabit-capable symmetric-PON (XGS-PON), as well as low earth orbit (LEO) satellites that can potentially support Beyond 5G connectivity.
